Forklifts

Material handling, lift trucks, powered industrial trucks, or forklifts. No matter what you call them, they are a necessary part of the trucking, warehousing, and shipping industry, and there is a large demand for trained operators.

Our Material Handling class is 40 hours long and covers the following:

• Safe operations
  • Loading, stacking, pallets, pallet jacks, etc.
• Basic maintenance
• Dock safety
• Document management
• Basic hazardous material handling and recognition
• Lift truck physics
• Refueling and recharging
• OSHA 8 hour and 4 hour training: Initial and Refresher Training

During the course, students get the opportunity to operate various types of powered industrial equipment - from forklifts to pallet jacks - in different situations (inside, outside, loading and unloading, stacking and un-stacking, etc.). The goal of the course is to train an individual to be able to safely manage a forklift in any material handling situation.

The course includes engaging and interactive classroom sessions, as well as a majority and on-the-job type warehouse experience. Each operator who successfully completes the training will receive a "Certificate of Completion" as well as the appropriate OSHA certificate.
